Sumptuous Bed and Breakfast Accommodation in Shropshire at the Old Courthouse

Walford Court was thought to have been built as a courthouse, and within these walls resides the charm and character of 500 years of life. Deep oak beams contain carvings and ritual marks of carpenters long gone - there are no new extensions for guests to stay in - all bedrooms and sitting rooms share in the complete character of the house. We do have a few uneven floors, and low beams, but the ceiling height is generous and the rooms are large, as befitted a courthouse.

We have 3 rooms available for Bed and Breakfast accommodation, comprising 2 very roomy suites with sitting rooms, and a very large double room with a sitting area. All are en-suite.

Breakfasts are served in our beautiful dining room, with its inglenook fireplace and bread oven. Through the large oak leaded windows you can view the gardens and ancient yew trees. On fine days in the Summer we are happy to serve meals in the garden. In the winter we'll keep you cosy with our wood-burning stove.

All bedrooms within our Bed and Breakfast accomodation have televisions with DVD players, and well-stocked tea trays, with a fresh supply of muffins provided every day. All rooms also have a fridge to keep your wine and snacks cold!

For that extra touch of luxury we also provide you with robes, scented candles, bubble baths, shampoo & conditioner....oh and cosy hot water bottles!

We are happy for you to eat in the rooms, and can supply crockery, cutlery and napkins as required. A tasty platter comprising local butchers pate, ham and cheeses, with home made pickles and chutneys can be pre-ordered and will be placed in your room fridge ready for you on return from a lovely day out! Hot home made soup and crumpets/cheesy herby muffins can also be made available in the evenings in our guest lounge.

Wireless free broadband access is also available in the rooms.

To celebrate 5 years of Award winning success in the Flavours of Herefordshire awards, we ensure that there is always a good selection of local and artisan produce on offer.

For that extra romantic touch we can arrange for a delicious box of local hand made chocolates to be available in your room at a cost of £15, or arrange for champagne and/or flowers to your own individual taste and budget.

You'll find it hard not to relax and unwind in the tranquillity and beauty of the setting of Walford Court, near Ludlow in Shropshire.

Prices - Award Winning Value for Money

All our rooms within our Bed and Breakfast accomodation have king sized beds, and are rather large! The Suites have separate adjoining sitting rooms with the double room having a seating area within the bedroom. As a small business we will only occasionally take single night bookings particularly at weekends - sorry, but one single night booking in the wrong place can lose us a considerable amount of income from multiple night bookings - please do ask though - sometimes it works out just right!!

The Aragon Suite, comprising a spacious bedroom with 4 poster bed, separate sitting room, and en-suite cloakroom (please note that the roll top bath is in the bedroom!)- £105 per night per couple for Friday/Saturday nights, all other nights are £100.

The Courthouse Suite, comprising a large bedroom with king size bed, sitting room with fabulous views over the garden, and en-suite bathroom - £105 per night per couple for Friday/Saturday nights, all other nights are £100.

Prince Arthur’s room, comprising a large bedroom with king size bed, sitting area, and en-suite bathroom -  £100 per night per couple for Friday/Saturday nights, all other nights are £95.

Additional adults may stay in either of our Suites. An additional charge of £30 per night will apply. To consider the comfort of our other guests, we no longer take children under 12. If all 3 rooms are being booked out by the same party we can waive this, please do call or e-mail your requirements.

We are happy for guests dogs to stay overnight in cars as our drive is very private and safe, or they can be boarded at a kennel a short distance away, but we do not allow dogs in the bedrooms.

The price includes a large buffet and award winning cooked breakfast, a well-stocked tea tray and complimentary local mineral water. All rooms have hair dryers, robes, bubble baths/shampoo/conditioner, and scented candles!
